After the wind event: the order of operations
When a gust front has been through your area, the sequence that protects you is short. Walk the yard, not the roof: shingles, tabs, and ridge-cap pieces on the ground are your first evidence; photograph them where they lie. Check the ceilings after the next rain, not just the storm itself, since wind damage often leaks on the second front, not the first. Book the free inspection promptly whether or not you see damage from the ground, because creases and broken seal strips don’t announce themselves at driveway distance.
